What Capcom has announced

Capcom describes new quest ranks, locations, monsters and expanded weapon actions in a continuation of Wilds. Its June 8 announcement gives a 2027 window for the paid expansion. That is a different category of release from a hotfix to a game already in your library.

Keep three records separate

A returning player benefits from separating the current game version, the expansion they own or intend to buy, and the requirements of the activity they want to join. Installing a patch is not the same as purchasing expansion access. Likewise, owning the base game does not by itself establish which future bundle is the right one.

This distinction becomes useful when friends return at different times. One person may be asking about a current technical fix while another is discussing next year’s content. Naming the exact update or expansion prevents those two conversations from becoming a confused purchase recommendation.

New actions change what a future guide needs to test

Expanded weapon actions are meaningful because a weapon guide is more than a list of damage numbers. Positioning, openings and the length of a commitment all influence how comfortable an action feels. When a playable expansion is available, those are useful questions for a comparison with the base game.

They are not results this announcement establishes. We are not assigning a weapon tier or promising that a new system fixes every frustration. The official reveal explains the scope; tested guides will need the actual version and a clear method.

Do not attach a date to a different platform

Capcom’s same corporate announcement separately says a Switch 2 version of the base game is in development. It does not give that version a release date in the cited text. Keep it distinct from the listed expansion platforms and the year-only expansion window. Current PC patch information is linked below for readers whose immediate question is performance.
